TOTAL Youth was organized to help educate high school students about all Tipton County has to offer. TOTAL stands for Tipton Organized To Advance Leadership and by educating our youth about the wonderful things offered right in their own backyard, we entice these future leaders to use their skills at home.Students must be a junior in high school with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. All students must also fill out an application and then be selected by a panel of judges before being invited to join in this elite group of students.
Each month the students focus on one aspect of the county. This month the focus was on health care. The staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital Tipton arranged for a educational and exciting day for the students. After everyone had been split in to small groups, we set off to take an up close and personal tour of each department of the hospital. The students were given the chance to ask questions about anything pertaining to the department that they were touring. Questions like:"How much money do you make?"," How much school is required?", even "What is the worst thing you've ever seen?" were all asked.
