While announcing the plant expansion, Delfield executives presented a scholarship to Dr. Karen Bowyer that the company has set up for students from southwest Tennessee to attend Dyersburg State Community College. The $2,500 scholarship will be available to children and grandchildren of Delfield employees. Applications will be accepted at the Delfield plant in Covington or Dyersburg State Community College.
"Our intention with the scholarship is to invest in the workforce of this area where we are bringing more skilled jobs," stated Charles Eaves, General Manager of Delfield. "It is also important to us to help our employees provide educational opportunities for their families."
"It shows a real commitment to the people of West Tennessee when a company invests in higher education," remarked Dr. Karen Bowyer, Dyersburg State Community College President. "We are pleased to see such a great company emphasize the value of education."
